Hurricane Ian wreaked havoc on our community leaving a path of destruction. We need Your help to bring Hope to those affected.
At Arcadia-DeSoto County Habitat for Humanity, our thoughts and prayers are with our neighbors and community members affected by Hurricane Ian. We want you to know that we are here to help in any way possible.
Since Hurricane Ian came ashore on September 28th, DeSoto Habitat has been working hard to help the community with immediate needs. We have opened our ReStore in downtown Arcadia and are distributing goods. As conditions allowed, temporary supply distribution sites both in our ReStore parking lot and in other parts of our county were utilized. We have been working closely with several organizations to facilitate distributions of donated supplies.
Now we must look to the future.
Hundreds of homes throughout DeSoto County sustained major water and/or wind damage during the storm making safe and secure housing a priority for residents. Transitioning to meet the long-term needs of our community while continuing to serve direct requests, DeSoto Habitat’s recovery strategy includes assisting DeSoto County residents with critical home repairs and safe housing options. We are working with local officials to plan additional affordable housing for displaced families.
In the aftermath of the storm, your support will help DeSoto Habitat provide relief to County residents. While we always appreciate any assistance, the greatest need is monetary. If you are in a position to help, you can donate below or by mailing your check or money order to
